This Privacy Policy explains what information Moment collects, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. Moment is operated by Lloyd Ebnchenge ("we", "us"). It applies to the Moment app.
1. Information you give us
- Sign-in details: when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your account identifier and email address (or Apple's private relay email) and, if you share it, your name.
- Profile: your real first and last name, profile photo, bio and the interests you pick. Your name and photo are shown to other people.
- Birthday: used to confirm you're old enough. It is never shown on your profile.
- Content: Moments and posts you capture with the front and back cameras or import, including photos, videos, captions, hashtags, text, filters, edits, sounds you add, and the audience you choose. Drafts stay on your iPhone until you post them.
- Activity with others: likes, comments, replies, mentions, follows, shares, saves, reactions, blocks and reports.
- Messages: the messages and photos you send in chats, reactions, replies, edits, and your disappearing-message settings.
- Contacts (only if you choose): when you tap Find friends, the app sends up to 250 email addresses from your contacts to match people who chose to be findable. We use them only for that match and don't save your address book.
- Support: what you send when you contact us.
2. Information collected automatically
- Feed activity: what you view in Moment and for how long, whether you watch to the end or replay, skips, profile visits, likes, comments, shares and "Not interested" taps. This is how the For You feed learns what to show you.
- Device and app information: device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone (used to schedule your daily Moment; we do not use GPS location), and a push notification token if you allow notifications.
- Diagnostics: crash, performance and upload information that helps us fix problems.
- Camera and microphone are used only while you capture, and Photos only when you import or save. You can change these permissions in iPhone Settings at any time.
Moment does not use an advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. How we use information
- To run Moment: create your account, show your posts to the audience you choose, deliver messages, and schedule the daily Moment in your time zone.
- To recommend content: the For You feed ranks posts using signals such as who you follow, what you watch and for how long, what you replay, like, comment on, share or skip, your chosen interests, and how recent and popular a post is. You can follow or unfollow people, tap "Not interested", and control your audience to shape it.
- To send notifications you've allowed, such as Moment invitations, likes, comments, follows and mentions.
- To keep people safe: enforce our real-name rule and community rules, review reports, prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and respond to legal requests.
- To make watermarked copies when people save or share posts.
- To fix bugs and improve Moment.
We don't sell your personal information and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
4. Who can see your information
- Everyone on Moment can see your real name, profile photo and bio, and the posts you share with Everyone. Posts shared with Followers are seen by your followers; posts set to Only me are seen only by you.
- Comments and likes you leave on a post can be seen by people who can see that post.
- Messages can be seen only by the people in the chat.
- People you block can't see your posts or message you.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run Moment, or when the law requires it:
- Service providers that process data for us under contract: Supabase (accounts, database and media storage), Mux (video processing and streaming), Apple (Sign in with Apple and push notifications), Google (Sign in with Google), and music catalog providers for sound previews.
- Legal and safety: when we believe in good faith it's needed to follow the law or a valid legal request, to report child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, or to protect anyone's safety, rights or property.
- Business change: if Moment is involved in a merger, sale or transfer, your information may move with it, under this Policy.
- With your permission, in any other case.
6. How long we keep information
- We keep your information while your account exists and as long as needed to run Moment.
- When you delete a post, it's removed from Moment. When you delete your account (Settings → Other → Delete account), we delete your account, profile, posts, videos (including the copies held by our video provider), media and messages.
- Disappearing messages are removed on the timer you set.
- Limited copies may remain in backups or logs for a short time, and we keep information longer only when the law requires it or to deal with safety issues, such as a report under review.
7. Your choices and rights
- Edit your name, photo and bio in your profile; choose each post's audience; delete posts; and delete your account in the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in Settings → Notifications and in iPhone Settings, choose whether people can find you from their contacts, and block people.
- You can ask us to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, or to opt out of any processing you're entitled to opt out of. Email lloyd.ebnchenge@gmail.com. We'll reply within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and we'll respond to the appeal within 60 days.
- Depending on where you live, such as Texas, California or other U.S. states, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. We won't treat you differently for using them.
8. Children
Moment is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it and its information. If you believe a child under 13 is using Moment, email lloyd.ebnchenge@gmail.com.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, per-account access rules on our database, private media storage with short-lived links, and limited access to systems. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
10. Where information is processed
Moment is operated from the United States. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries, with protections required by law.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Questions or requests: Lloyd Ebnchenge, lloyd.ebnchenge@gmail.com.
